Install the Teams tab (for tenant admins)¶
TaskTree can run as a tab inside Microsoft Teams, so your team reaches it without leaving Teams. This page is for Teams tenant administrators — installing the app is an admin action.
Not yet available
The Teams tab is built and packaged but not rolled out yet — it's planned for after the current pilot. The steps below describe what installation will look like once it's enabled. Until then, use TaskTree in the browser.
What you'll need¶
- Teams Administrator rights in your tenant.
- The TaskTree app package (a
.zip), provided by whoever runs TaskTree for your organisation.
The high-level flow¶
- Upload the app. In the Teams admin centre, go to Teams apps → Manage apps → Upload new app and select the TaskTree package.
- Approve it. Set the app's status to Allowed so people in your tenant can add it. Optionally publish it to your org's app store so it's easy to find.
- Add the tab (any user, once the app is allowed). In a Teams channel, click + to add a tab, search for TaskTree, and select it.
- Pick a project. The tab's configuration page lists the projects you can see; choose one and click Save.
- Done. The tab is pinned, and opening it later goes straight to that project.
Signing in is handled automatically through your organisation's Microsoft account — there's no separate TaskTree login.
Full procedure¶
The detailed, step-by-step install runbook — including the exact admin-centre paths and the app package details — is maintained for whoever operates TaskTree, in the internal docs/internal/teams-install.md notes. Ask them for it when Teams rollout is scheduled.
